"HD" Spy Pen Video Review
Sunday, May 16, 2010 at 4:10PM I've put together another video review for a spy camera - the big difference this time is that the camera records in HD (1280x960 30 fps). I imagine that this will be the same camera unit that is fitted inside the HD Spy watch - so the review might help if you are interested in that device too.
I'm pretty happy with the way the review turned out - the pen itself, well that's another story, but you'll need to watch the video for a full explanation. Let's just say that not all HD is really HD.

About the pen, i have the same but only with the chinese manual and USB cable. Are you know how to change the video resolution? I want to record in 640 x 480...
And also, i haven't the driver CD: can you send me the PC Cam driver?

I've had a look at the manual today and you can't change between 640x480 and 1280x960 - The box mentions both resolutions because both the 'Basic' and the 'Plus' model are supplied in the same box.
Unfortunately I can't send you the driver as I don't currently own a PC that can read 8cm discs (I'm all slot loading Macs).

Thank you for your review, it is great. A little late for me though, as this will be my 3rd camera so far, when it arrives in the next week or so. I'm looking for a HD one, and the first pencam I bought was a black one, 640x480, 30fps, I think it is equiv to your keyring cam, definitely better than my 2nd pencam, which is like your one but black/silver instead of black/gold. It does 1280x960 but qlty is bad, just like yours. I had big hopes for the BPR-6, as they mention 2Mpixels, but it seems it is just another $30 down the drain. If you find a good one please, please let me know. Thanks again and keep doing these reviews...we need them!. Richard.

Hi, as I saw at ebay, there are also slightly different pens available, recording in 1280x720, eg. not only upscaled 640x480 resolution. Have you ever tested one of those pens? KR, Jo
