What SD CARD should I buy?

If you want an SD Card for your camera - these are the ones I use and recommend.

I'd strongly recommend not to buy any SD cards off ebay - I've heard about too many issues with counterfeit cards - often sold on by unwitting resellers. My inbox regularly gets messages from people who bought a £150 camera then cheaped out and bought a £3 memory card on ebay - Then when it doesn't worth they blame the camera! It doesn't make any sense. Good memory is cheaper than it's ever been - see the links above.

A lot of HD cameras will not work properly with cards larger than 32GB (cards over 32GB are usually SDXC rather than the SDHC standard used by 32GB cards. SDXC cards use the ex-FAT system rather than FAT32 - in short they are a different standard). - so don't just buy the biggest card you can afford - read the specs in the manual to see what it accepts.

RECOMMENDED CARDS (for action cams - see dashcams below)

CLASS 10 UHS-1 CARDS (For HD Cameras)

U3 CARD (For 4K cameras)

The SD card in a dashcam is re-written over, more frequently than in other types of cameras. Some manufacturers void their guarantee if an SD card was used in a dashcam. So, no surprise, there are special High Endurance SD cards made just for's some.

VERY IMPORTANT. These links take you to the product, however Amazon have three different ways of selling. There's Amazon Direct - This means that you are only dealing with Amazon themselves, then there's other sellers that use Amazon's facilities - these show as Fulfilled By Amazon and finally there's Market Place sellers that advertise on Amazon, but operate independently.  I strongly recommend that you only use the first...the Amazon Direct - Sold By Amazon option. Even if it appears that you are paying a couple of £/$ more it is more than likely you are comparing the price of a real item against the price of a fake.

To give you an idea of the extent of the fake goods problem. In a 2016 survey by Apple - 90% of the 'Apple' chargers sold through Amazon - using the other the two methods..which includes the "Fulfilled by Amazon" option -  were found to be counterfeit....90%!

The Innovv C1 Review

At long last here is my review of the Innovv C1 camera. This is a very interesting little camera with a number of clever features. The manufacturer has set-out to make the best mini 1080p camera, watch the video to see if they succeeded. I didn't mention price in the video because these things often change, but if you click the links below the video you'll see the latest deals.

Innovv has been putting out regular firmware updates to tweak the camera and add features...which is of course a good thing, but it also makes it difficult to review when the goalposts keep moving. So consider this video to be a demonstration of this camera's features and abilities as of early January 2014 if you are reading this in a few months then some of the things I've mentioned may well have changed.

I haven't found anyone selling the Dash-cam lead seperately, I'd imagine it's the same one used in some of the 808 keyring cameras, but I can't confirm this until I unearth my old 808 #26 wire. It's unfortunate that a special lead is required if you want to power and record at the same time or utilise the auto power on/off function, so hopefully they'll consider bundling this important USB wire with future sales.

One thing I didnt mention in the video is that, as expected, there is no gap between clips when using this camera as a dash-cam...rather each new clip repeats a fraction of a second of the previous one.

If you want to read the manuals, install the GUI Update Utility or get the firmware updates, they can all be obtained from the Manufacturer's website HERE.

Download Samples HERE. As always, don't stream these, because if you do the quality will be no different to watching them on youtube. To download, change the dropbox thumbnail-based file page into a list (icon at the top right) then click on a file and choose Download (Icon bottom right 'More Actions'). Once they are downloaded you can play them from your hard-drive to see the true untouched video quality.

More info about the Innov C1 is available on the Dashcamtalk and RCGroups forums.

As far as I'm concerned it's impossible to talk with any accuracy about the long term reliability of a product when it has only just been released. Warranties are the responsibility of the manufacturer and reseller, not a review site. Incidentally, all three of my Innovv cameras are still functioning perfectly, so it appears that my experience is quite different to yours.

Hi Ramon,

This is Rock Liu from Innovv,
Sorry to hear your message and I would like to clarify first that the quality issue nothing relates to Techmoan.
His review is based on the sample on his hand, and we do respect on his view.

About your experience with Innovv c1 or c2, we take responsibility on that,
We will contact Dashcam.EU for more details, but for sure if you consider he could not solve the issue, you can contact us directly.

I do respect that you may like Moibus, but as the developer and manufacturer of Innovv, please trust us the development and quality is priority, we keep improvement.

We are selling cameras to many many customers, so you can see people reported the issues and questions they are facing, I think you do believe that we are following up very close on that, like yours complaint here. we are learning from our customers and improvement made base on that, that is our business model, I believe Mobius is doing same.

Easy communication makes our life more happy, let's work together to solve the issue.

Thank you,

Thanks for your dash-cam vids. I would like you to review a dash-cam for truckers - I think Brits call them hauliers. I am interested in two rear looking cameras, one for each, large, rear view mirror, and of course, one looking ahead.

By the way, I enjoy the architecture of the older buildings, especially the one whose façade is defaced by the "stop hate" signage (probably intentional tacky placement). And there's the church across the street from the White Lion which looked like Norman construction; and I enjoy your accent.

Thanks again.

Have a nice day.
