What SD CARD should I buy?

If you want an SD Card for your camera - these are the ones I use and recommend.

I'd strongly recommend not to buy any SD cards off ebay - I've heard about too many issues with counterfeit cards - often sold on by unwitting resellers. My inbox regularly gets messages from people who bought a £150 camera then cheaped out and bought a £3 memory card on ebay - Then when it doesn't worth they blame the camera! It doesn't make any sense. Good memory is cheaper than it's ever been - see the links above.

A lot of HD cameras will not work properly with cards larger than 32GB (cards over 32GB are usually SDXC rather than the SDHC standard used by 32GB cards. SDXC cards use the ex-FAT system rather than FAT32 - in short they are a different standard). - so don't just buy the biggest card you can afford - read the specs in the manual to see what it accepts.

RECOMMENDED CARDS (for action cams - see dashcams below)

CLASS 10 UHS-1 CARDS (For HD Cameras)

U3 CARD (For 4K cameras)

The SD card in a dashcam is re-written over, more frequently than in other types of cameras. Some manufacturers void their guarantee if an SD card was used in a dashcam. So, no surprise, there are special High Endurance SD cards made just for's some.

VERY IMPORTANT. These links take you to the product, however Amazon have three different ways of selling. There's Amazon Direct - This means that you are only dealing with Amazon themselves, then there's other sellers that use Amazon's facilities - these show as Fulfilled By Amazon and finally there's Market Place sellers that advertise on Amazon, but operate independently.  I strongly recommend that you only use the first...the Amazon Direct - Sold By Amazon option. Even if it appears that you are paying a couple of £/$ more it is more than likely you are comparing the price of a real item against the price of a fake.

To give you an idea of the extent of the fake goods problem. In a 2016 survey by Apple - 90% of the 'Apple' chargers sold through Amazon - using the other the two methods..which includes the "Fulfilled by Amazon" option -  were found to be counterfeit....90%!

The fully-loaded Gitup Git2 Pro Camera - what more do you need?

I've reviewed many action cameras with each new model (usually) improving upon the last. However pretty much every camera I've tested has had an achilles heel, whether it was the lack of a mic input, poor exposure control, or general operational issues, it's often a case of 'close, but no cigar'.

Well I think the Git2 deserves that cigar, because I'm really struggling to find anything that it doesn't do. As far as these kinds of cameras go, it seems to tick the box for every feature you need and then throw in a few more besides.

If you are looking for a matchbox sized camera and the Git2 falls within your budget, I really can't think of anything that should prevent you from buying it. I suppose you might prefer to pay more for a camera with less features but labelled up with a brand name you are more familiar with...and if so then that's your prerogative, however I know which camera I'd buy.

Watch the video below to see the full review.

If you want to buy a Gitup Git2 Pro, I found the best deals are on ebay, so click your country below to see the current price that is available to you.

Excellent review, thanks. One thing I am curious about- that mounting clip you have shown to hold the camera on a tripod mount does not appear in the list of included items on any advertised Git2 I can find. Is it always supposed to be there?

All I know is that is was inside the box...and everything looked like it hadn't been touched or altered. I suppose the only way to be sure is to order one - or see if anyone else here can confirm that a cradle was in their box too.

I have just received my Git 2 yesterday and can confirm that what Techmoan calls the cradle mount (Gitup calls it the holder or frame or dashcam frame) as shown at 10:08 is in the box.

It is also in the list of included items on several advertised Git 2 (i.e. Gearbest: 1 x Frame).

Thanks. It's just that I had seen listings like this and the cradle isn't shown.

Graham, I have looked at the ebay listing and was on writing: "the mount in question isn't mentioned anywhere so I highly doubt it is included" BUT I have just looked at the one offering I bought the GIT 2 from and the mounting frame (with several other mounts) isn't shown nor mentioned but came with the box.

That brings us back to Matts post: "to be sure is to order one (camera)".

I have just been scammed by the Chinese supplier on Amazon. I got sent a cheap bad clone of an sj4000 knock off or something. Put it this way, the camera had no markings on at all and was supplied in a white unbranded box.

Really want the Git2 so does anyone know of a UK supplier

From the Getup Facebook page is would seem they know about the issues with the Final Cam App and suggest using the FN Cam App for iOS and the same for Android.

Have you had a chance to try these Apps to see if it fixes the problems controlling the camera via Wi-Fi?

Peter: A good friend of mine at Rossendale Models stocks the Git1 and 2 and is 100% trustworthy. See
